746713 2009-03-26 22:38:00 They wont be able to enforce it, the new law is a joke ... ISP don't have the money nor the resources to follow up on disconnections
My my. ISP's don't have the resources? You make it sound like ISP's are stretched thin, Xnet for one does it and it has no monetary value to them.

I don't know anybody on the net that doesn't do it, not saying that that makes it right.... it seems to be the only free entertainment we can get as we can't afford much in this country, if we can get our hands on it, why not? If we can't afford it in the first place, we sure as weren't going to purchase it to start with. Who wants to buy an albumn for the one or two good songs, and who wants to go out of their way to purchase the one or two songs online legit if we can get it free? iTune's who? LOL
So your reasoning for piracy is because we can't afford much in this country? I can't afford a new car so do I go and steal it instead? No because it is illegal. Your opinions are more flawed than the section 92A amendment.

Jen I wish you done more than just delete one post

Personally, I don't let the law dictate my beliefs of right and wrong.

746715 2009-03-26 23:39:00 Blardy worry if you let ISPs be judge and jury about who to take out. Piracy shouldn't concern them they just a provider.
Real judges and juries get it wrong heaps of times so I can really trust my ISP xtra to get it right. (Tui Billboard)
Thanks trins for telling me about Xnet I will never use them while I still breathe.

746716 2009-03-26 23:47:00 So, if ISPs shouldnt be concerned about piracy (and cut you off), who should be??

Depending on WHO you rip off (by pirating software / music / whatever), would you prefer to get cut off by your ISP. Or get a visit from MS / whatever company), go to court / get sued. And pay millions for pirating instead?

Even tho I dont use P2P programs / whatever. I would prefer getting disconnected / cut off, than going to a court, and getting ordered to pay a massive fine. I'd probably be paying it off, till the day I die

746717 2009-03-27 01:42:00 I think the ones who are worried are the ones who are stealing music/movies/software etc

All the talk of 'I generally download a few songs and if i like it I go buy the album' is a load of **** and they know it. And that goes for the movies and software as well.

In saying that though, I do believe the price of tickets/cds/dvds etc are still far too high and do nothing but encourage piracy so it will always be ripped.

So the whole is a crock. Im thirsty...

I found everyone was getting caught up about ISP's just blaming you and that's it, no fair hearing. Which is wrong as you actually can dispute it.

I bet you'll like what the next version of the amended does right? This isn't going to go away just like that. If anything I would of preferred 92A over the what could potentially happen next.

746719 2009-03-27 02:37:00 Well its largely academic now because the National party is going to bin the legislation.
Maybe some clever bugger in the National party worked out this law was dumb.
MS can fine me a quadrillion bucks but they wouldn't get one cent.

746720 2009-03-27 02:43:00 I dont think theyre binning it. Theyre going back to the drawing board, to change it. It hasn't finished yet Speedy Gonzales (78)
