848914 2010-01-16 04:41:00 Puppylinux is excellent. If it had firefox inbuilt and VLC too itd suit way more people. Im guessing you can simply download the pups and it works.

Yep it takes some workarounds sometimes with slow machines and live cds. Im using SLITAZ right now on a compaq n610 which has no hard drive, til I get a CF and CF IDE adapter.

848915 2010-01-16 05:01:00 There are .pet packages for both VLC player
www.murga-linux.com

and Firefox
www.murga-linux.com

There are also so-called puplets which are remasters of Puppy
which people have created with various packages
www.puppylinux.org

as well as Squash file systems which contain various packages and load at bootup

Bear in mind though that the more stuff you put in your Puppy the bigger and
more resource hungry it will become!
