There is a Freeware Program the converts between most formats including the ones you are interested in. I uninstalled all the others because this one is the ultimate. Yah can't beat FORMAT FACTORY (www.brothersoft.com).

There is even a portable version (wdtech.net)for a flash drive.

BURNZEE Thought I'd give it a try :groan: how does the saying go -- A picture is worth a thousand words (www.imagef1.net.nz) it creates links to ebay. While ebay may not be damaging, they dont tell you till AFTER you have installed it.

Thanks for that. Repeated the dose with same results. Have to find a site to download Format Factory from that has a clean version.

BURNZEE I told MSSE to delete the threat, which it did, then let it install. Did another scan and it came up clean.

Looks like the link to ebay was the problem, the program still opened OK and appeared to function -- nothing to convert right now -- typical eh!

848729 2010-01-15 08:09:00 Hi Guys

Sorry 'bout the problems, should have checked the links myself . According to Mircosoft the Trogan that gets installed with Format Factory is via the e-bay shortcut or e-bay . exe . Allow your anti-virus to get rid of it and fully delete any e-bay . exe shortcuts on your desktop or quick launch bar . This does not prevent the program working . The installer gives you an option to install the ASK toolbar etc . Just for good measure untick them .

While not a good thing to happen, this does not distract from the usefulness of Format Factory . One program to do most format conversions .

Install it, following the above suggestions, then do a full anti-virus check to satisfy yourself the program is now clean .
