When he starts looking at real naked girls, that's the time to start worrying.

Yeah but have you seen whats on the net? its not just unclothed ladies. Theres some sick stuff around.
Better to buy a magazine and block access to the nasty stuff.

K9 is pretty unhackable, I had a PC in once where it was installed, the guy couldn't get it off (and he was over 18, over 40 in fact), and I had to try and hack it. Took absolutely forever and I didn't hack it exactly, I forget what I had to do short of contacting the company and getting the uninstall key off them.

848394 2010-01-13 22:50:00 k9 is a great free program BUT there is one thing you must do, when you register it, DONT use your own Home email address, use a second one, either at work or web based, something the kids dont know about.

This is because if someone wants to bypass the password, all they have to do is click on "forgot Password" and it sends a temp one that bypasses the original password to the registered email.

I had this happen late last year, put K9 on a family PC to stop the kids going to certain sites, later that night, around 10.30pm I got a password request / change for forgotten password, - I registered it under my own email, not theirs -- rang the following morning just in case and the parents knew nothing about it -- a certain young person got a good "telling off"

848395 2010-01-14 01:24:00 Another vote for K9 - my son hates it, I can track his visits and he can't clear them by clearing IE or Firefox history.
For a freebie it's fantastic.

848396 2010-01-14 01:52:00 if anything, make sure your family/own computer has firewall and antivirus. That way if his computer -does- get infected, it won't affect yours. Once my brother's friend brought his laptop over for a LAN, put a worm onto the home network. utopian201 (6245)
