849459 2010-01-17 06:36:00 I have successfully added subtitles to an avi movie file using virtualdub but I have ended up with an 80gb output file.
Is this normal or is there a way of producing a dubbed file of reasonable size?
Thanks,

849460 2010-01-17 06:45:00 80 GB? Sure it's not 8 GB? You could try a mix of converting to vob format (e.g. by using Super (www.erightsoft.com)) then shrink with DVD shrink... kahawai chaser (3545)

Check your output codec & compression, looks live you have chosen 'uncompressed'.
