| 849362 | 2010-01-17 02:02:00 | I recently moved to a new home and therefore I had to dissemble and then re-assemble my computer again after four days. Immediately on re-assembling my computer I am now unable to display any jpg Images in "Windows Live Photo Gallery" which is the default program that I have always used in the past. In all other respects my computer works normally and the thumbnails of the jpgs do display normally in Windows explorer. When I click on any JPG in Windows Explorer I get an Error dialogue box that reads: "An error is preventing the photo or video from being displayed. Unfortunately there is no other data or explanation as to what the error actually is or what can be done to fix it. I can display my JPGs normally using Picasa 3 but I prefer to use Windows Live Photo Gallery. Many thanks for your help. |

This maybe the prob We've gotten reports of the behavior you describe in rare cases where system registry hives have lost the necessary ACL's (permissions) for a user account to read recently-created registry keys. |
