| 747334 | 2009-02-13 05:53:00 | I'm still waiting for the Sensible Sentencing Trust to come out and say this sentence was inadequate and he should have got a minimum of five hundred years without parole etc etc . But then again some people think that tagging deserves the death penalty . . . . |

| 747335 | 2009-02-13 06:03:00 | i'm with Metla on this one (strange but true ;) ) the biggest thing the guy did wrong was simply chased him down the street. he went from self defence to attacking. i saw a bit on tv where the judge was saying people think knifes are soft weapons and that in reality, at close range, they are almost as lethal as guns. mmmm.......judge go ask the cops in the bad areas of USA what they prefer. a lot prefer the bad guy has a gun compared to a knife. the old adage "winner of a knife fight goes to the ER, the loser to the morgue." knife attacks do far more damage than guns will. i think the stats show that most handgun victims survive while most knife attack victims don't. |

Jah'che murdered a completely innocent woman. All he cared about was the fact this woman may have narked on him smashing the school if he didn't kill her. Bruce Emery killed a proven vandal. Not innocent in any way. Whether he deserved death or not is different matter and should not be included in this respect. |

There is no way that murder is justifiable; Understandable yes. but not justifiable. That kid was innocent too! and even younger than the person jah'che killed. SO WHAT IF HE WAS A VANDAL!!! Thats what the youth justice and youth offending sections of the police are for! This is not a matter to take into your own hands. If this guy gets only 4 years w/ 17months until parole then jah'che should too there no difference between these cases THEY BOTH MURDERED SOMEONE. EDIT: You had respect for me? WOW. i dont care about respect. its a judgement factor and im not to be judged. EDIT 2: Except for when i was in youth court and got sentenced(not convicted) of my crimes in which case i got 3/11........... P.S its a bummer hes in the high court. if he'd only stayed in the youth court :( |

| 747343 | 2009-02-13 07:49:00 | For what it's worth - the facts (as far as I'm aware) - Teenage little sh1t and his mate out late at night, roaming the streets vandalising whatever they feel like. Probably a typical night out for them. - Got drunk AND high before they left home. A 15 year old. - Caught in the act by one home owner. No doubt got away with damaging numerous other properties - Emery chases the cretin, after grabbing a knife to scare the little buggers - As I understand, these brats hid from him (in the dark) and prepared to rush at him. - Dumbass ran into the knife. Already established. Hardly murder and not worthy of the emotive crap from in the Herald. Not exactly a sweet innocent boy murdered by some heartless bastard hell-bent on revenge. The fact is, it was a stoned, drunk, 15-year-old out late at night who, when caught out, decided to try to ambush the innocent target of this vandalism. The fact that he ran into a knife in the dark - not stabbed... it's called karma. Oh; as a comment on this.... IF HE HADNT LEFT THE HOUSE HE COULDNT BE AMBUSHED; HE WAS SET ON STABBING THIS KID AND IN NO WAY CAN THIS BE ACCEPTABLE EDIT; yes it is actually. and its by no means a prison. its a secure residence; not to be confused with a prison. and there was only 1 or 2 murderers there; both of whom i knew and could hardly call scary........ well actually one of them was... lol |
