747774 2009-02-14 19:21:00 I prefer a good bright picture, plenty of memory, loads of detail and textures, cool running, low power consumption, low purchase price, 12 year warranty and silent operation. Most cards (Actually all) fail so far.

My GPU passes all of those except the 12 year warranty and textures (I think :p) - 256MB video RAM (can use 768MB of system RAM), takes power from PCIe slot, less than $100 (from Japan :p) and a passive cooler. :D

747775 2009-02-14 19:37:00 Nah - that's not lots of memory. 10 GB is lots of memory.

It should also be shockproof, waterproof and antimagnetic. And kind to animals. ;)

747776 2009-02-14 19:38:00 Why would you use a computer underwater? :stare: pcuser42 (130)

747780 2009-02-16 04:58:00 The vga market is the same as the cpu market, one brand is the best one minute and then the other brand is the best the next minute.:D

Just go to review sites and see what is the best at the time you want to buy and go for the best that you can afford.:)

At the moment I think Ati is offering more for your money with ddr 5 ram on it's 4870's and HDMI and direct x 10.1,Shader Model 4.1,OpenGL 2.1.:)

The non reference ones are the best ones as they often have better cooling and are clocked faster as well. They come out after the reference ones are released so you just have to wait for them to come out after them, but it's worth it because they improve on them and are better then the reference designed ones.
