2009-02-14 04:18:00 | Got SWMBO a tea-infuser and some lovely English Breakfast loose tea from chai . co . nz, and then took her out for a romantic lunch . . . . . . . which was a disaster as the food failed to materialize after us waiting 50 minutes so we walked out on disgust . Ended up having McD's at the beach!!!!!!!!!! :p Will give us something funny to look back on though!

But you'll notice that all the businesses lurch from Waitangry Day sales to Valentine's Day to Easter, etc. etc. What does it mean to them? $$$$$$$ What else? I don't see why we should play their silly game. Flowers, in particular, overpriced, and look at all the silly buggers who pay extortionate prices for them!:horrified As far as I am concerned, personal anniversaries are much more important than some trivial import. (Yes dear, yes dear, yes dear.:groan:) The majority seem to regard the day with indifference and that's as it should be! |

2009-02-14 05:37:00 | Me? Nothing at all. A quick slap on the rear and asked "how about it?".... Amazing how quick SWMBO leaped out of bed and bought me in a cuppa while she read the morning paper!!! Always works. Doesn't do much for ones self esteem but at the wrong side of 66, I don't really worry to much anyway! By the way, 92% of respondents on the TV1 Breakfast Show, said they thought it was a crock of sh*t. Looks like the respondents here follow that trend. Ken ;)

2009-02-14 09:18:00 | Yeah thats what I thought to , its for single people to let them know someone fancies them. Dont know how boring marriedies hijacked the day. When I was a young fella I got an anonymous card from a "secret admirer" on Valentines Day never knew who it was from, went down the pub to see if anyone looking at me and laughing but no more than usual. Although it could have been a setup by my "mates". I was a no gf piss drinking lout at the time. I guess I will peg out without ever knowing.

2009-02-14 18:37:00 | I gave my wife a picture frame, it's looks like the front of a VW with the picture going in the windscreen. She loved it. I'm a shocker at remembering birthdays and anniversary so I buy trinkets etc during the year (especially during the sales) and then store them in a secret place until required. The picture frame I bought during the after Xmas sales at 50% off. Doing this has saved my bacon so many times. But rule #1 is don't buy underwear! (think about it)
