It was a name invented by a European called William Pember Reeves. I'm certain that the majority of people in this country will agree that Michael King is one of the most respected historians in NZ and he said that the name Aotearoa was popularised in the book "The Long White Cloud" but the name was fictional. Read the quote I posted from Michael King and forget all that nonsense.:illogical |
