| 849113 | 2010-01-17 04:05:00 | Last time I set one, from memory it gave the option to set a range from Firewall / My network Zones, set the range from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.254 That will allow all addresses through from the router. edited; Just looked up the manual  This is the one you want (www.imagef1.net.nz) |

Both found network on restart. Now Dell can see Laptop. Laptop can't see anything. (could see Dell before) Both Vista Machines still cant see anything. Not too worried about these. Will work on XPs for now. Maybe Speedy with TV tomorrow for them. All machines can access printer and internet. |

| 849116 | 2010-01-17 05:17:00 | Sometimes you have to remove all security when setting up networks, that way nothing ( in theory) is blocking the connections. Sometimes you have to make sure all PC's are on the same workgroup. Also give it a few minutes, theres sometimes a delay in networked PC's / Devices showing esp in XP. |

One of the first things I did was to make sure all machines were on the same network name. Will shut down Commodo on both machines and see what happens. |

| 849118 | 2010-01-17 06:43:00 | Update. Shut down Commodo and waited several minutes and nothing happened. Restarted both machines and suddenly both machines can see each other and both machines can see shared files on the other machine. Will do a few restarts and see how stable it is. The next step is to apply the same to the Vista machines. Fingers crossed. |

| 849120 | 2010-01-17 08:29:00 | I still have a similar problem in win7 home XP comps cannot connect without password even though it is set in 7 to no password required. Upon googling it seems it is quite common on 7 so could be in Vista too | gary67 (56) | ||
| 849121 | 2010-01-17 08:33:00 | If you want to share Win7, you should create a folder then share it (disable password), then select everyone, then make it read/write. Well thats all I had to do. To share between XP, Vista and Win7 | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
| 849122 | 2010-01-17 08:39:00 | Windows 7 I share this way - always seemed to work for me & I've done it countless times on my LAN as well as others. On the folder you want to share. Right click/properties Sharing Tab / Share From drop down box - everyone, then click add Select everyone from list - change from read to read/write Click Share then done From the Advanced sharing (next button down) - tick share this folder from permissions - tick full control & change - then ok out reboot to make sure With Vista its similar but a few steps are called different things. Here is the instructions I give to my customers. Sharing Folders in Vista is a two step process. Go to the folder you want to share: Right click it, select properties, go to the sharing tab, click on the word “Share” In the blank Drop Down box, hit the arrow on the right, select Guest, Click ADD, In the box below will be guest, select it, ( it will say Reader) change it to “ Co - Owner” Hit Share down the bottom, it will take a few seconds to share, then click DONE. SECOND PART: Back at the properties window, select “ Advanced Sharing”, put a tick in the box that says “ Share this folder” - Click Permissions - by default there will be an entry called “ Everyone” in the check boxes, place ticks in Full Control, Change , Read, click OK ( 3 times) |
