| 748590 | 2009-02-17 08:13:00 | Just had a negative experience and thought I'd share to warn you fine young people. Found a car at a reasonable price, low km's, good nick. Was all set to go have a test drive, but I thought I'd check if any money was owing. Looked up the Personal Properties Security Register only to find that it is collateral for a loan. Rung the guy and confronted him and he squirmed and squirmed. Always, always, always check the ppsr. http://www.ppsr.govt.nz You can txt the rego and or vin to 3463. Cost $1 for a reply. |

I think trademe has a fixed fee for listing but you can let it run forever, but if you don't sell they still take that fee . We don't like car yards so we have really stuck with Turners Auctions . They do the checks and it is more safer for us . We don't get the mechanical warranty and chances is that Turners is cheaper than car yards and we factor that for our own repairs althou we do, do a thorough check from what skills we have and ask others to come with us . These days we can hold onto our cars for 10yrs, after buying them used and pay modest $5-7k for them . |
