| 748536 | 2009-02-17 02:45:00 | Am wanting to do a DIY heat transfer duct in our home just from the ceiling of one room to another close by no probs with the ducts but would like a heads up on controls for the fan. Want a thermostat to read the ceiling area of one room and another to read the ambient temperature of the other room and then if there is say a 2 degree difference to switch on the fan. I guess there are such units? Any idea where from? Many thanks |

The warmer air will rise and the cooler will sink (thermal sublimation) and establish a laminar zone that for all intents and purposes is considered a dead zone . To establish the temperature differences you want will usually require a two-zone thermostat, which is available here in the US . I suggest a slow moving ceiling fan to keep the zones mixed and not allow the sublimation you will get . We use them here with a great amount of economy and they keep the thermostat from reading satisfaction or call when it isn't necessary . |

Would you have a link for those two-zone thermostats? Will they do what am trying to achieve? Just for our swimming pool have a unit for the solar heating measures the water temperature on the roof and the pool water turns on the circulating pump when 2 degrees warmer on the roof works brilliantly! Thanks |
