| 748391 | 2009-02-16 19:01:00 | The whole project is a stuff up. The new hospital should have been built at Keneperu, Porirua, where there is simply acres and acres of land and space for development and parking. Ever tried parking at Newtown? ......and when you have to go day after day visiting, fighting through the traffic both ways, and then go round and round the miniscule parking area to find a space.........it's a bummer. Then they charge exhorbitantly for the priviledge. It's no wonder there are problems with the beds, with the space available they have obviously had to keep the rooms as small as possible. I haven't yet heard one medical professional who wasn't in favour of the Porirua site. One surgeon resigned because when he was called in on emergencies, he could never find anywhere to park either. |

Why didn't he use his car park at Wakefield private hospital just down the road? If the public hospital had moved, the private one would have probably moved also as the "specialists" wouldn't want to lose too much consultation time between offices. |

This is what is wrong with the media today, noone is out getting proper stories, they just slap a headline on any old thing and pass it off as news.:2cents: I see nothing wrong debaiting the location of the hospital, but doorways...far out.. |

Money wasted by incompetent fools for the sake of a measuring tape, and no doubt this is just the tip of the iceberg and only made the news due to its novelty value. |

Then they charge exhorbitantly for the priviledge. I know that two years ago you could get passes if you had a family member in there for any length of time. You were charged the 1 hour rate no matter how long you stayed. Finding a spot wasn't too bad most days either. Did they change that with all the renovations? If so, idiots. If not, it's not as bad as you make it sound. |
