| 747736 | 2009-02-14 01:42:00 | There's a recent rush in the US to buy gold by private companies that ask you to send them gold pieces in the form of old jewelry, coins and buttons, etc . They are advertising on the tv and the radio all the time right now . The deal? They weigh your gold novelettes and mail back your cash in 48 hours after assaying it . The catch - you get a check (it's good OK) but you then convert the check (and your old gold, incidentally) to Federal Reserve Notes printed like toilet (loo?) paper by the US Treasury . I smell a rat . Does anyone else? |
