2010-01-18 19:09:00 | Hi, does anyone here have any knowledge on how good/bad this product is. We are thinking about upgrading our email server and one of our staff has used this product at a different site. Also Lotus notes also does document control which i am keen at looking at. If it is recommended i might look at getting a trial, or not if it is overwhelmingly disliked TIA

I had a mate who did Lotus notes engineering, he got mega bucks for support. Its not easy stuff though....on a side note, the e-mail client may give you grief with add-in and pictures...but its been over 8 yrs for me now... | SolMiester (139) | ||
2010-01-18 19:51:00 | So as an admin would i need specific training to use this product? Also the email would need to be bullet proof, we have been through three isp's and now have our own email server but still get email issues i.e. lost emails | Gobe1 (6290) | |
2010-01-18 20:25:00 | There is a reason people get paid heaps to admin a Notes installation. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it :) If you just want a mail server that does what it says on the tin, try Mercury (www.pmail.com). If you are losing mail while running your own server, then YOU are doing it wrong...

2010-01-18 20:38:00 | Thanks Fred, yeah Notes might be over the top but i did like the document control feature. Our setup is pretty simple with 50 users and i have average pc knowledge. I will check out Mercury. Cheers
