This won't be his first time in jail - seems like it's almost universal among judges to jail on the fourth drink-driving/driving conviction. But three months sounds very light - I would have thought 18 months was more like it with his record. One guy I knew, the judge said to him on the third conviction, "next time you're here for this - bring your toothbrush." And he got caught again - and sure enough he went to jail. Another guy I knew had been caught for the fourth time and even though his convictions had been spread over 18 years - he was sentenced to 3 months. |
