A map that has holes at the bottom through which steam comes out. The argument is that using hot, high pressure steam will instantly remove dirt, marks etc while sanitizing/deodorizing the surface at the same time without using chemicals.

Damn, Ive been watching too many steam mop infomercials on TV :p

I thought I was keeping up with the tv ads - but obviously not well enough to have registered this one...

750044 2009-02-21 20:11:00 Don't waste your money.
My good lady bought one.
To get a reasonable clean , you have to mop "very" slowly to let the steam have a chance to loosen the soiling on the floor. The soiled material is then supposedly captured in the space age miracle wonder cloth on the head of the mop.
In reality, you just end up pushing the loosened dirt and particles into a pile and then have to pick this up by some other method.
Depending on the breed of mop you buy, the cloth head/covering has to be either laundered or replaced after every use.
In my opinion, they are a waste on time, effort and money.

No wonder there are a few selling on trademe after a few uses. Wont bother then. Must be one of those inventions that sound better that it is suppose to.
