National are just as much at fault for supporting it. Labour go crazy when they have been in power for too long, but National go crazy as soon as they get into power.

749853 2009-02-21 00:58:00 The WORLD is laughing at us?

It is only one story which of course was written by a reporter and was allowed to be published by an editor.

I am a little cynical as I do not believe everything I read.

Possibly. But then possibly not. Law is not in force yet.

749856 2009-02-21 01:58:00 Does this new law mean anyone dowloading from Limewire may get the chop. Limewire on its own is not the problem - the actual program is not illegal, and there are many legal downloads that are being brought through Limewire.

Its what people are using Limewire for - meaning downloading illegal content. Heres an example - Say some one writes a book and distubitues it Via P2P - more or less saying - here take it for free - not a problem and nothing illegal.

As for every one laughing at NZ--- There is already a court case as described here in Aust last November (whirlpool.net.au) - of an ISP being taken to court for not doing enough to stop illegal downloads.

749857 2009-02-21 02:07:00 Still, it sets a new ridiculous president. Guilty until proven innocent!? Thats just crazy. pine-o-cleen (2955)
749858 2009-02-21 02:14:00 Totally Agree - if some some place is saying a person is downloading illegal content, then they should have to prove it first - which is easy enough to do. wainuitech (129)
749859 2009-02-21 02:17:00 Heck how easy would it be to shut down a whole companies internet for a day? Lose that company thousands of dollars (potentially). pine-o-cleen (2955)
