749657 2009-02-20 05:47:00 If your covered by there red network, i could be a good investment, but I hear there customer service is bad. davidmmac (4619)
749658 2009-02-20 06:02:00 service is ok on a par with most other big ISP's but don't try calling for support it takes hours sometimes. Been running them for about 2 years now and apart from forgetting to connect us when we moved house have been reasonably good gary67 (56)
749659 2009-02-20 06:14:00 I am in the process of changing to them.
They are the only ISP in my area that will do 5GB per month on full speed for a reasonable price.

749660 2009-02-20 08:49:00 Id personally avoid them, iHug turned to custard when Vodafone began taking over 12 months ago ...

That said, anything is better than Telecom if you can get somebody with their own equipment at the exchange ;)

749661 2009-02-20 09:38:00 Cheers for the replies. My friend is pondering between Orcon and Vodafone. I commented that Orcon is better than Vodafone in the sense that it is wired, so it will tend to out-perform the latter. Renmoo (66)

If they are weighing up the two, go for the NZ owned company, eg Orcon. Orcon is government owned, so their profits stay in NZ. Vodafone is UK owned, so they send their profits offshore. It is essential as we enter this recession/depression, that we support NZ businesses, and try to minimise the amount of money that goes offshore.

749663 2009-02-20 09:58:00 Another good reason to go with Orcon! :)

Im sure that company just gets better by the minute ... ;)

Absolutely :) . Also Orcons service can't be worse than Vodafones. I think vodafones support is the worst of any provider, they never reply to email support tickets.
