Trying to ban a single spammer without logging into the Admin CP took forver coz it loads and reloads pages, its horrible :( Anyways, Im using Chrome so naturally Google dont want you blocking Ads. I dont care about the Google ads, but the ones coming from Germany are pissing me off no end, it takes a good 7-8 seconds a page just to show the top part of the thread :( So yeah if anybody knows the hostnames its referencing so I can block the suckers in my Hosts file, that'd be super! | 749331 | 2009-02-19 10:13:00 | Try privoxy, if youre using windows. Just add a few things to the proxy and it should be a lot faster It'll work in most browsers. |

| 749336 | 2009-02-19 18:39:00 | I've had them blocked for quite a while, but unfortunately I still (sometimes) need a good 2 or 3 minutes to get a single page to load from youse guys . I am on DSL here and can get most anything - even in Bulgaria - to load at normal speeds, but I think there's a bottleneck somewhere that slows my connex with NZ . ABP works well and I don't see ANY ads except the banner, which doesn't seem to take much time to load at all, but the smilies are all over the page and I have to hunt them down to use one . As I type this, I get several words ahead of the screen and I have to wait to see what I've written sometimes and when I post, it can take another minute or two for the post to show up . |

I am sure we all do not mind a few ads, but PressF1 seems to have legions of programmers dedicated to finding more real estate to squeeze another advert in. I am sure they are loosing viewers. I for one don to visit as often as I used to, or read as many threads as I used, as I hate waiting for pages to load and I am on broadband. I do not know of ANY other forum in the world that has as many ads. Most have none or just a few Google text ads. Come on PressF1. |
