| 749162 | 2009-02-19 01:57:00 | Hi I'm thinking of replacing my old 128mb (!) mp3 player. But almost all mp3 players now have internal non replaceable batteries. Have any of you had a problem with the internal battery dying/losing charge capacity? My current mp3 player uses AAA's, and I'd like to get another which uses AAA, but I can't seem to find any... |

The battery used to last 5 days, now it runs out after 2 days. I did get a 3 year extended manufacturers warrenty, so I am hoping the battery dies, before it runs out, as that should be covered by the warranty. They make them so the batteries can't be replaced so the ipod becomes useless for hwat it was purchased for. I would far prefer to have a battery that can be switched, so you can carry spares. |

You can replace the batteries in an iPod though - there are countless videos on the net with step-by-step instructions - and I think DSE sells kits to replace batteries on most iPod models. |

You can to a point, but you can damage the ipod case and clips that hold to together, trying to take it apart. WHen apple replace the batteries, they replace the casing, due to thiAlso the battery probably won't be the same type or brand of battery that apple uses, so potentially it could cause problems, such as a fire or melting. WHen apple replace the batteries, they replace the casing, due to this. |
