850853 2010-01-22 03:31:00 My motherboard is a Gigabyte P35C DS3R
Im wondering what type of ram i should buy it says it supports
DDR3:

1. 2 x 1. 5V DDR3 DIMM sockets supporting up to 4 GB of system memory
2. Dual channel memory architecture
3. Support for DDR3 1333*/1066/800 MHz memory modules

DDR2:

1. 4 x 1. 8V DDR2 DIMM sockets supporting up to 8 GB of system memory
2. Dual channel memory architecture
3. Support for DDR2 1066*/800/667 MHz memory modules

I have 100 bucks to spend and want to get something quality maybe 2x1gb?

Either but not a combination of both

850855 2010-01-22 03:37:00 I currently have two 1gb 667mhz samsung rams, so can i use 1066mhz rams? and why cant dd3 and dd2 be mixed? chuanwai (12518)
850856 2010-01-22 03:48:00 Because you cant use DDR 2 and DDR3, at the same time. It'll probably say this on the GB site. If that DDR 667 is DDR2, then if you want more ram, you'll have to use DDR2 ram, NOT DDR3 ram. You can use 1066 if its DDR2. But you may as well replace the 667 with the same stick/s Speedy Gonzales (78)
850857 2010-01-22 03:50:00 What brand do u guys suggest? I looked at OCZ Crucial G skill but i want some good recommendations chuanwai (12518)
850858 2010-01-22 05:25:00 Don't hold your breath, the improvement on the existing 2GB may not amount to much at all. Also if you have a 32bit operating system it maxs out around 3GB anyway. PENTIUM (426)
850859 2010-01-22 07:45:00 Save up some more and get 2x2GB. You will receive next to no increase in performance by changing from what you currently have to another pair of 2x1GB.

Computer Lounge have a pair of 2x2GB sticks from Corsair for $150 and they're also 1066MHz models.
