| 749232 | 2009-02-19 12:05:00 | Ok so i have eclipse dev-cpp and vb 06 and 08 installed on my computer... oh and python. basicaly i want to do programming but looking at how long it takes to learn a little i was like wtf.... but recently ive been on some 'programming forum' and have been picking up scripts so im hoping in a month or two i can compile a whole programme on my own... even if it is only a win32 console.... atm the only programs ive made is a hello world and a keylogger(has no tcp/ip functions and therefore cannot be used to gather other people info through a rat. so no im not "hacking") Oh btw im 15 so i hope all goes well and by 16 in a few months i can do more... EDIT: i also know some basic joomla sql injects in combination w/ cain and able software... found a few site but couldnt be bothered brute forcing lol......... P.S wouldnt have done anything if i had got into the sites. the worst i can do at this stage is deface anyway lol... |

I think getting a job for a few months to get some $$ to live on and then take robbyp's suggestion of several months of trial work. somebody - in regard to getting into the grad programs etc. Although I did well in my classes and was always in the top 15% - I was never top student and unfortunatly most of these places are after students with A+s all they way. A note for NZfunk - basically if you learn the underlying principles regarding software development and programming - once you have learned one language learning another is a fairly simple matter. I started with VB.NET and then moved onto C#.NET which I have used for the past 2 years - then decided to look at Java - only took me a couple of weeks and I was coding away in Java like it was my much loved C#.NET :nerd: |

The 1hr/week is just there as they would have no idea how many hours it would take, and you have to specify a certain number of hours a week when you list the ad. |

You can have a team or do it yourself, but you will be paid in total $200. A custom e-commerce site like that would cost several thousand minimum. As for being a good developer, don't get too hung up on the language etc. Yes you need to be proficient in a language, but the language is just the tool. Its the skills they teach at uni which are the most valuable. Get those right and you'll do well - no matter what language. |

Anyone taking up that job may end up working for $1-5 and hour at that rate. The person who posted it is being so unrealistic, that SJS shouldn't have allowed it to be listed. |

Seriously you have a thing or two to learn ... you're not the only one who knows how to do that sort of thing, and defacing websites is so not cool! Not to mentions its *very* easy to land yourself some Jail time for doing-so! Regardless of it being an NZ website or not!! Also, thats not the kind of thing we condone here, Im sure its against the rules somewhere... Like Spidermans grandfather said to him "With great power comes great responsibility", so use your abilities for good and not evil! :) |
