Proof? And you want to bet? Some people will complain about anything.
This does not mean all people.

749765 2009-02-21 01:54:00 Sweep, I don't think Avaast could have stuffed your hard drive either !
So tell us what it did ?

And I checked on other forums and heaps of people are having problems wit the new AVG - and yes it is free, but you would think they would have fixed it after 1 year of the new version. (and i tried for months on their official forum to get my problems sorted and they kept denying there were any ! - if they had the decency to say, we are sorry there are some problems, we will try to fix them, please bear with us, but no they keep blaming corrupt files and their users.)

I have used AVG in the past the free version and I currently use Avast the free version. AVG and Avast never stuffed my hard drives at any time.

749768 2009-02-21 05:30:00 I take it you want to bet. Prove it if you please.
"Probably" is only an opinion such as "I guess"

Prove that it was Avast that caused the problems and forced the user to reformat.

Avast just works fine for me. Still running it. Usually a free version of anything will not give technical support.

I was replying to Speedy earlier. Are you confused or what?

I wanted proof from Speedy when he said.
"Avast Home is also free, bet noone has had as many probs as AVG free

Its probably what was on the hdd that screwed it up, not Avast"

Go read this thread from start to finish.

Prefect seems to have reformated due to problems with Avast. I do not know why.

749772 2009-02-21 07:17:00 AVG fine used it for years.Tried AVAST and it was hopeless ended up having to reformat hard drive with the damage it did.
Millions of people use it around the world use no problems, problem is in land of the long white cloud where there is group of pressf1 AVG haters always slinging off about it.

AVG is a POS, with its update issues and false positives.
nuff said... and thats based on my own opinion and issues discovered while I was a trainee tech for a local company

So do tell, what did Avast do that required a format?

PEBKAC?
