850617 2010-01-21 23:47:00 Get some SSD's, they will help with load up times for the textures etc....and more RAM..Another CPU will not help, you are running 8 logical cores already!

Oh, buy the way, nV Fermi should be out in April, looking exciting for future gaming.....and the GPU is a monster, should hand a can of woopass to ATi

I already have SSD drives. And I have 12 gigs of ram

850618 2010-01-21 23:52:00 Get a Full Tower case then.
BTW what happened to "this is my last computer?":clap

My last computer? Did I say that?
I probably meant it at the time.
Blame Intel. They keep producing something faster.

Is the game loaded on the SSD?

EVGA 285, with two gigs. No SLI because FSX does not recognise two vid cards.

It is on SSD.

850621 2010-01-22 01:17:00 Your setup is insane.
Found anything it can't run?

850622 2010-01-22 02:06:00 I would be very interested in this build if you do it
Keep us posted

Well then mate, FSX must have the worst coding ever!!....as your system is so close to the pinnacle of current cutting edge, other than a full RAM drive for the system (yes RAM drive is faster than SSD), I dont know what else you can do!!

850624 2010-01-22 02:23:00 Have you thought about just buying a plane???

Could be cheaper in the long run, given your record. I imagine it would be more fulfilling, too.

P.S. I love the absolute disrespect for money, it's something we could all aspire towards.

No need for Xeon i7s. ;)

But I do agree with Sol. With a 4.2GHz HT-on i7 there's really nothing your PC can't handle, CPU-wise. The best thing you can do is upgrade your GTX285 to a Fermi or two in a couple of months, or a 5970 or two if you don't want to wait that long.

Fermi will bury the 5970 sandwich!
