2009-02-20 20:32:00 On Thursday at about 10-15pm I downloaded some Flight Sim software. It was 1.1gb in size. It took 45.29 mins to D/L at an average speed of 411.4kbps.
The funny thing was I'm with Actrix and you have a daily cap. Mine is 1.4gb which is divided into 2 segments. You can use 700mb between 6-00pm and 2-00am and the same between 2-00am and 6-00pm.
When I started I figured I had about 650mb left before my speed was cut so I used Getright so that I could continue D/L the next day. This never happened as I was able to D/L the whole file in one go. When I had finished I checked the useage meter and it said I had used 650mb of my 700mb. Went back and checked the meter again after 5 minutes and it said my speed had been cut since I had used 1.2gb of my 700mb. Sounds like there meter can't cope with fast downloads.

2009-02-20 21:58:00 We have a 2GB daily cap (through the whole day) on Vodafone. When I downloaded Windows 7, after it was done, we weren't throttled. :D pcuser42 (130)
2009-02-21 00:32:00 411.4kbps doesn't seem all that fast to me, it's ok, but my down load speeds reach over 900 kbps depending on what server I'm downloading from. radium (8645)
2009-02-21 01:32:00 Who is your ISP and what plan are you on.

2009-02-21 02:11:00 Xtra, Explorer plan. No I'm not a fan of Telecom but their plan suits me. But yeah I'm happy with my BB speeds, However they could always be faster, I wouldn't complain if they were radium (8645)
2009-02-21 02:34:00 That D/L speed of mine was from a European site Germany I think.

2009-02-21 03:09:00 D/L speeds will differ depending on file types also to some extent. Bantu (52)
2009-02-21 03:16:00 Yes if you are D/L text files it well be fast. I remember on dial up years ago D/L text files and I was getting about 9kbps instead of the usual 4.5kbps.
