| 749301 | 2009-02-19 07:18:00 | What's fuss about the South Africans saying the Maori ABs are racially selected? It's a fact, isn't it? I have no Maori blood, so I would not qualify. Even that jerk John Minto has come out denying it. But then, he's renowned for arguing black is white. |

I joined Maori Golf in NZ back in the late 1970's Later I was driving buses for NZR and the Union wanted me to go on strike to not transport the springboks. I did not agree. During the years of my life I have learned a few things. Recently I have visited a few PressF1 Members and changed my thoughts as a result. Have you qualified for the All Blacks at all regardless of your race or ethnic background? |

Talk about double standards!:horrified There should be no selection on racial grounds - for football teams, for schools or anything else you can think of - but, unfortunately, in this country that is not the case.:illogical I do not worry too much about the fact that the government makes it easier for some members of the community, to receive benefits, than others. I have never been able to qualify for any benefits, but I am reasonably happy to pay my taxes. But I do believe that the system should not give preferential treatment to any able-bodied person because of their ethnicity or any other reason. This country rallied against South Africa for that very reason, but it still happens in New Zealand.:mad: |
