What they done to the manhole right on the intersection a week ago could have easily killed a motorcyclist. The other end of Ikitara Rd was done by Higgins and its like a race track....smooooooooth. And strong, It looks as good now as it did a year ago. Pity they don't get more of the work around Wanganui. I'm hoping they don't carry on down my street. |

| 748774 | 2009-02-18 01:19:00 | I'm of the opinion he was exactly what Wanganui needed after the decade long stagnation of the last mayor. He got the ball rolling and acted decisively. Now the ball is rolling me no longer need a knee jerk ignoramus at the helm. Though the dysfunction is all the way through the council, I still can't figure out why they make it so hard for every individual or company that seeks to invest in the local economy, To the point they give up and spend their money elsewhere. Of course their habit of talking down to everyone doesn't help either, I guess you can do that when you have the ability to throw a spanner in the works on a petty whim. There are few good people left in the council, Though they are getting rid of them as fast as they can. Seems to me Councils are like a delusional Rugby ref, The type who think they are the star of the game and never let anything reach its natural flow. To busy blowing their damn whistle (look at me,Look at me, i have a whistle, I'm important, I'm important) to let the real work get done. |

Good analogy! I would think that not only describes most councils around NZ, but also the group of idiots in Wellington that we elected (and de-elected) late last year.... |

If I think of all the good successful people I know, they are all to busy making a go of it rather than wanting to tell others what to do. When you think of the inefficiencies of councils and government, you have to wonder why it all keeps going. At our expense of course. |
