| 850714 | 2010-01-22 00:21:00 | No probs, you can disable homegroup (open computer). Select homegroup on the left. Left mouse. Leave the homegroup. No point having it enabled, if you cant use it. Dont forget to turn on discovery and file sharing (and disable password protection in Win 7). Right mouse on the monitor on the bottom / change advanced sharing. | 850719 | 2010-01-23 00:10:00 | Even though you may have an admin account, you are not actually the administrator. Two things to try - 1st. Go to Computer/ Optical Drive - Right click on the drive /Open - look for the setup or install exe - right click it, Run as administrator. OR 2nd. log in to the hidden admin account. Easiest Way-- click start, type in CMD in the results, right click -- Run as administrator. When the window opens - type in net user administrator /active:yes (press enter) You should get the picture as in that other link Shown Here (www.sevenforums.com) Close off the command prompt by typing in exit ( press enter), now reboot the PC and you should now have the option of logging in your normal account or administrator. |
