850765 2010-01-21 20:03:00 I have an external WD hard drive E101559 1Tb
My computer will not boot if it is plugged in.
Is this a faulty hard drive or faulty case?

850766 2010-01-21 20:06:00 Make sure the hdd with the OS on it, is the bootdisk. The WD may have changed the bootdisk order in the BIOS Speedy Gonzales (78)
850767 2010-01-21 20:20:00 Go into the BIOS and remove usb HDD from boot options! SolMiester (139)
850768 2010-01-21 20:26:00 Id update your BIOS drivers, basically it's just that your BIOS is freaking out because the drive-size, thats why it's hanging. Chilling_Silence (9)

850770 2010-01-21 20:30:00 Perhaps the OP could be a bit more detailed, will the PC not POST?, or is it looking for the o/s on the external drive, my guess is the later!

Edit - okay....chill was right, the size is freaking out the Board...LOL

Could you give me some guidance on how to do this.

850774 2010-01-21 20:44:00 Looks like these are the BIOS updates (downloadcenter.intel.com +Boards&ProductProduct=Intel%C2%AE+Desktop+Board+D915GAG&OSVersion=OS+Independent). But they look a bit old. What version of the BIOS is on it now? Speedy Gonzales (78)
