750727 2009-02-23 20:01:00 I have a Kodascope Eight, Model 50, 8mm projector . “For use with slow burning film only . ” (Wonder what that means? If it catches fire it gives you time to get out?)

It was made by Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York, in, I think, 1930 .

It has been given to me because, I was told, that it did not work, but I might be interested . (MOTAT did not want it . ) It has had a New Zealand plug fitted and I was told when they plugged it in it blew a fuse . I am not surprised – it runs on 100-125 volts . It draws 400 watts .

It comes with its own bottle of Kodascope Lubricating Oil and a note on the lid of the box says, “This is the only lubricant that should be used on the Kodascope . ” It appears to be about the viscosity of sewing machine oil .

If you are interested have a look here: . ebay . com . my/VINTAGE-1930-S-KODASCOPE-EIGHT-MODEL-50-PROJECTOR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQitemZ110335047199" target="_blank">cgi . ebay . com . my at the bottom left of the page . That is the same as the one I have .

Included in the package was a length of old style extension cord in very good condition .

There is also a rather unusual looking small heater . End on it is the shape of an upside-down U . On the end it says, Netz: 240 Amp: 2 . 72 Lampe 110 V . Watt 300 . It has a knob on one end to vary the heat .

If you are interested in making your own movies there is a small booklet entitled, “How To Take Movies with the Bell & Howell FILMO Double 8 cine camera . ” – professional results with amateur ease .

If you collect old things and would like this one please let me know .
