851640 2010-01-25 02:30:00 Someone might say throw it in the rubbish bin and get a Toshiba or an Asus notebook.
:)

851641 2010-01-25 03:47:00 Trev has the right idea.
However you want to stop it rebooting so you can read the BSOD error and tell us what it is.

851642 2010-01-25 03:48:00 It is most likely overheating. What happens when you take the case covers off? I don't think the last posting by Trev was very helpful or even well informed, for that matter. PENTIUM (426)
851643 2010-01-25 04:13:00 1. It is a desktop
2. there are no BSOD
3. it happens even with the cover off

notes:
the heat sink on the cpu seems acceptable warmth
but there is a silver fin type of thing on the motherboard that is almost too hot to touch

851644 2010-01-25 05:33:00 The chipset unit under the silver thingy can often run pretty warm, some machines have a small cooling fan on these.
It could be a number of things, the power supply pass-transistor heatsink mountings for example.
You probably need to let a friendly technician have a quick look.
