2009-03-02 10:31:00 | What is wrong with you? There should be an emoticon for this - something that says "jesus wept", "OMFG" and shakes its wee head, perhaps?

2009-03-02 13:34:00 | What is wrong with you? To whom are you reffering? Or should that be to who are you actually asking the question thereof? Once again a one line post which actually exceeded your ten line sig as usuall. Should I take it that you only have learnt to count up to ten and you count using fingers. Just to help you robby_boy I have eight fingers, two thumbs and ten toes. Two of my toes are usually mentioned as big. That is of course I was not dopey enough to cut off said digits or even born without any of them as some people in the past have been.

And it was quite obvious that I was referring to you. Your posts are just so ridiculous, it's like you're talking to yourself. You remind me of Grandpa Simpson. |

2009-03-02 19:49:00 | It now appears to me that quite a number of people have cliques and use PMs on a regular basis. This would be fine by me but the Moderators have the right to ban me if any one of them desires to do so. Personally I would have not known that pctek was named Helen but some posters here have decided to post the name. I think that there may be some misuse of PM's. What has anything got to do with PM's??? Whos' PMing???

2009-03-02 20:59:00 | I just finished doing a comparison of PCT's "Performance Gaming System". I used Ascent only - because from what I've heard Helen offers equivalent service / back-up (ie rock solid). Using almost exactly same parts quoted on her system, Ascent's individual components come to $2888 (vs her $2800). And her system comes fully built with OS installed - and guarantees it's all working. And minus the shop there may be a drop in price. Or, considering the latest drop in Exchange rate - a no-change to price. Haven't re-looked at them yet, next week when I'm not so busy trying to close and do PCs at the same time.............

2009-03-02 21:07:00 | some retailers are obviously getting parts cheaper, just compare with any site, such as computer lounge, playtech Yes, yes. Playtech imports some stuff direct you know. And they are the retail branch of TMC. That helps. Like IFocus is Iways retail store. I get my stuff from the NZ suppliers and pricing is according to quantity as well you know. Some shops, as they concentrate on sales, buy loads at a time. I concentrate on repairs mainly, I'm not a parts shop (apart from replacing dead stuff). And I avoid the cheap suppliers like Zcom. Cheap and nasty and no after sales service. I know, a couple of places I worked for used them and I had 3 separate arguments trying to get warranty replacements from them. I'd rather stick to the good suppliers. Anyone who trolls through Pricespy as their main criteria is probably going to build it themselves anyway and won't want after sales support.............and may not get any for that matter. You don't just pay for the box - you pay for me to attend to it personally too. I do a fair bit of free tuition and minor fixes for those who buy my PCs. Thats what they are paying for.

2009-03-02 21:17:00 | Ok then-its good value for the typical end user then. | Blam (54) | |
2009-03-03 00:14:00 | Certainly good value for the end user. If a user is going to trawl pricespy and always go for the absolute cheapest price, they're going to run into issues sooner or later. I believe that is why some stores are no longer listed on Pricespy, due to horrible reputation! ;) Personally, if Im going to suggest somebody go see a PC Repairman, it'll be one who has the after-sale service, and isnt interested in the quick-buck, but a long-term customer / supplier relationship :)
