| 752027 | 2009-02-28 10:15:00 | Just think - more time for F.E.A.R.2.........Nah, kidding- I finished it last night. What's your verdict on F.E.A.R. 2 then? I downloaded the demo (1.8 GB...) but so far haven't rushed out and bought it. |

| 752028 | 2009-02-28 11:32:00 | It is not quite that easy. Passion does not pay the bills (well OK, it does in some professions ), if your work drops off. Sounds like a good decision to go back to working from home, keep the business (and name/rep) ticking over, and then expand once things pick up again. Many don't have that choice. I've got friends who have been made redundant and have no show of getting work in their profession. :( Really? What profession are they in? I don't actually know anyone who has been made redunadant from this recession yet, but I guess guess it hasn't yet started to really bite yet. This recession is going to get worse, so it is certainly a good idea to lower your overheads now rather than later on. Infact if the governments around the world didn't lend to and bail out the banks, we would be having a depression. |

So even though my role was not made redundant ('cos I'm a contractor), I am currently unemployed because no-one is hiring at the moment (at least for what I do) because of the recession. And I'm about to go riding with a group of 20 or so gals and guys, 4-5 of whom are in a similar position (no contractors though). |

| 752032 | 2009-02-28 17:42:00 | I know that by the time I shut the doors on my shop I was well and truly fed up with it, Though I beat myself up over it for a month afterwards. In what way? Seeing if you could have done things better, or differently, or were you doing the "why did I bother"? Your answer here may give others insight of things they may have overlooked if they decide to go into business at a later date Where were you based? Deep South implies either Invercargill or DunedinSheep shagger central aka Gore signed: ex sheep shagger :p |

| 752033 | 2009-02-28 18:18:00 | Really? What profession are they in?Building industry (design, not construction). Same friend has other work colleagues that have recently been made redundant. Even a recruiting centre for that profession has gone under. You are fortunate if you haven't been affected or know of anyone who has. |

| 752034 | 2009-02-28 18:31:00 | It is not quite that easy. I never said it was easy, Just that it could be done, It just can't be done without the drive to do so. Of course it could always just make things worse,Thats life for ya. |

Your answer here may give others insight of things they may have overlooked if they decide to go into business at a later date In what way did I beat myself up? well, I put three years of effort into it, and then shut it down purely because I was sick of broken computers, people dicking me around, and working inside a building. Onwards and upwards was a real possibility, Though I would have needed the drive to do so and I simply didn't have it so I pulled the pin. Of course if I was making huge money then that may have been the required incentive, But the way I had structured my business made that impossible. |
