752309 2009-03-08 22:12:00 I use 2 razors,a rotary for the long and awkward hairs and a foil to finish off and I look gorgeous.
A rotary is gentler on the mush.

752311 2009-03-08 23:48:00 It's the steam roller that give me that edge. Cicero (40)
752312 2009-03-09 08:56:00 If you want the easiest and closest shave from a Philishave rotary, don't wash your face beforehand, wash afterwards. Natural skin oils seem to smooth the process. On top of that, you can get a good shave all over with your eyes still shut!

Foil types do shave closer, and I use one to finish up after the Phili if I want to look good all day (I can dream) but for sheer comfort and speed the three-head Philishave takes some beating. I've had several Brauns and they shave OK but are more likely to nick you than any other type andif the foils crack or get holes, you know all about it!!!

I have a Remington foil at present that shaves close and comfortable. Wet shaving is too much of a procedure, but my barber uses a cut-throat (dry) to shave below the trim line and around your neck and it scares me witless but he's not nicked me yet.

Cheers

Interesting .
Your observations are the opposite of mine .
I find washing the face essential before using the shaver .
Leaving it slightly damp seems to help . I am fair skinned .

My latest model 3 interconnected head, battery electric Philishave is terribly slow and ineffective .
That was the point of my starting this thread .

But my 30 year old mains Phili is fine . Fast and gives a good shave .
I still reckon the use of full bloodied mains power and completely independent heads must be better .

I am of course now more confused than ever .

752314 2009-03-09 22:38:00 Did you really mean full bloodied?

Full blooded possibly.

I don't use any electric shaver as I see some people driving a vehicle and using one at the same time.

Shavers should be banned in vehicles much like cellphones or CDs and DVDs.

Mind you some women need to get rid off makeup kits in cars too.

For the record I use a Gillette Fusion 4 blades.

But then you go to buy some more blades for the older model and they are out of stock so you buy a new razor. Much like when you run out of ink for a printer. Throw the printer away and buy a new one with new ink.

752315 2009-03-22 05:39:00 I'm only 19 so I don't have alot of experience, but I started with a 3 head Phillips battery shaver and had problem after problem with the blades going blunt, and even the little bits on the heads twisting so that the cutters would hit them. I now use a simple razor, one with the AAA battery inside that makes it vibrate and find it much easier/faster. pantera989 (14533)

You shave with a vibrator? Oh to be 19 again. :o

:P to be honest I don't actually notice any difference between it turned on or off.
