| 751256 | 2009-02-26 08:41:00 | I am now not a fan of auto bids, if I see them on an auction I click them up to their auto bid just like people used to do to me when I used them. What happens if you go over their auto bid, do you buy or pull out? Auto bids are handy if you are not going to be at a computer when the auction is closing, so is txt bidding. |

| 751257 | 2009-02-26 08:53:00 | I am now certain both bids are shown....I can only think that a deleted or banned user has had his bid removed! Both bids will only show up of the first bid is less than your auto-bid. If someone puts in a bid that is exactly the same as the amount you set in your auto-bid then their bid won't show only your auto-bid. How could you have someone bid $65 then your bid of $65 showing as well but leading? It would make more sense if TradeMe showed the other bid and then maybe something next to your bid saying "Auto-bid leads" or something like that. |

Auto bid normally waste of time because you are going to pay at least your top limit of your autobid anyway. You might as well bid that high to start with. There are a lot people on TM who treat it as a game not a market. if I see something I want say its got no reserve like car (Ford Ka) I bought last year I put in a reasonable bid over top of f!@#$%^& idiots who are putting in $10 bids for a $5k car. If its too good to be true guess what? There are dreamers out there hoping maybe some angry ex wife is going to sell her husbands pride and joy car for next to nothing to piss him off. Well it just doesnt happen in real life. |

However if one of the people bidding is suspended for breaching trademes terms, the bids will be removed, and won't show. They may have been removed for 'Shrill' bidding. |

I dont think a Ford Ka would be any mans pride and joy, its a girls car. |

Cars all end up selling for about what they are worth. The biggest problem on TM are dreamers and tyre kickers. Holden Commodores are girls cars. Ford Ka for my wife. |

| 751262 | 2009-02-28 02:08:00 | www.trademe.co.nz My brother buys stuff on Ebay and sells on TM he uses a program that bid automatically a few seconds before the auction ends. I don't know about Ebay, I don't use it because I can get anything I want right here in NZ and usually cheaper, but if you bid within the last two minutes on TM it extends the close time to 2 full minutes again. The only advantage in bidding close to the 2min cut off on TM is that competing bidders may not get back to their computer within that final 2 minutes so you win. I have won some astounding bargains using that technique, but by the same token I have seen keen but stupid bidders fight each other right past retail and into the stratosphere during their self-extended closure period. I think the TM system sounds better than Ebay for getting the seller the best price. Cheers Billy 8-{) |

| 751263 | 2009-03-07 00:38:00 | Another member on Trade Me who I chat with is selling something at the moment, and has had the same problem from another bidder from Australia. This is the auction... www.trademe.co.nz $30.55 6 Mar 1:41 pm ashleigh99 (5) $20.01 6 Mar 1:41 pm shadowbrookfarm (494 ) It just seems strange that, especially with this bid that someone had bid the exact amount there, $30.55 I wish Trade Me had actually been able to help me, and not just 'ponder' over why that happened... And I agree with you 'SolMiester', you would think that the other bidder would be shown. Oh, I don't know, maybe this is the time for me to stop using internet auctions!! haha |

| 751264 | 2009-03-07 00:52:00 | I dont see any problem ere. The person wants the comics has been a member for a while and has 100% good feedback. Whats more the trader who has been outbid has shocking feedback and should be removed from trading |

| 751265 | 2009-03-07 01:27:00 | The problem was that the person who had the highest bid told the seller that she did an auto bid of $30.55, and when the other bidder bid up to $20.01, the bid then jumped her up to her highest bid....and there seems to be no bidder below her at $30...that's what I am saying! | greyghost (14654) | ||
