751060 2009-02-24 09:42:00 Looks fine - I'm not so keen on the heading though. I don't like looking at the colours and the shading of the "Tokoroa Golf Club Inc New Zealand".

That's just me though.

That is Word art. But that is what was wanted. I will try to talk some other Committee executives out of it. A valid complaint though but there appears to be no clamour at this time.

For me I would not use Word art on the heading.

Like Hueybot3000 I just put the site together according to the specs given.

Thanks for the comment.

The original I had was a green grass background with white text.
BUT. I had to put the site together the way it is. I notice in Cpanel that there are more hits now. That before I put this site up on PressF1.

Your comments are noted though.

751063 2009-02-25 03:26:00 I put together a web site using Publisher.

Any comments?

I am wondering why you chose to use Americanised spelling with the word "Program"? I believe your site is targeted at New Zealanders rather than Americans therefore the correct spelling should be "Programme".

I am also wondering why there is no "Second Green" picture in between "First Green" and "Third Green"? I was scrolling up and down the page looking for it. I even checked out the source code just to see whether my browser wasn't displaying it for some reason.

Speaking of source code, it amazes me how much code there is for such a simple website. I have no idea what all that code is for as I try and keep my own code as minimalistic as possible. Your site still loads quickly though so it doesn't appear to be a disadvantage.

Your nice green greens would be the envy of our golf clubs. If they don't keep up the watering down here they turn brown very quickly.

751065 2009-02-25 05:00:00 you reffering to the forum or actual articles etc? as for forum id say largely due to ads and secondly the server the database the forum uses is on might not be up to the task, or needs a clean up

It's just the ads. The server itself is a bit of a beast and more than up to the task.

751066 2009-02-25 05:08:00 Yes loads extremely fast - Press F1 please note !
It does look a bit dated
The heading text - "Tokora Golf Club" is very amatuerish

But it probably serves its purpose.

As regards the golf club - not that I play golf or would ever want to but the club rooms look like a Nazi Prison of war camp huts.

The site is targetted at attracting visitors from all over the world. We don't care who spends their money here. No second green there even though we have 18 of them. The first and third happend to be the best presented of the photos I took. Some other greens are visible in the powerpoint tour I made which can be found in related links.

I agree that the heading wants work but as mentioned I have to work with the Executive Committee. I will try to talk them into something else.

You get food, beer, comfy chairs, golfers and other nice people in prisoner of war camps? Not to mention a very well designed course! I just knew I was born too late for world war 2. :)
