851649 2010-01-25 03:27:00 Hi, I am running win2k pro sp4, avast 4.8 home, and zone alarm 7.0.337.
Also spybot and adware, these two plus avast run clean, no errors.
This set up has been in use for well over a year without any problems.

Over the past 3 days my computer has frozen several times and locked up. On some occasions the display has gone blank (black not blue).

I don’t use IE, I use mozilla msword and excel mostly. The machine has frozen on all of these.

Cntl/alt/del has no effect, only recovery is by pressing the reset button or powering the machine.

I have also noticed the opening a file or folder takes noticeably longer.

Can some kind sole inspect my hijack log and advise please.

Fire up speedfan (www.almico.com)and check temps.

O4 - HKUS\.DEFAULT\..\Run: [internat.exe] internat.exe (User 'Default user')

Can you tell where that file is located? I think it's a regional settings switcher but not 100% on that.

I personally wouldn't trust those.

Use MS Security Eseentials instead.
Adaware is useless nowdays too.
replace it with Malware Bytes.

And when was the last time you updated Spybots definitions? Its no good unless you do that at least once a week. Did you?

MSSE doesn't work in Win2k.
