753405 2009-03-04 11:45:00 Handy for some setups. Rob99 (151)
753406 2009-03-04 18:50:00 Reformatting the partition is still the best option ;) R2x1 (4628)
753407 2009-03-04 19:17:00 I'm assuming there's another (convenient) way to get Windows Updates without IE? the_bogan (9949)
753408 2009-03-04 19:20:00 Shame you can't deselect that & a bunch of other junk when installing Windows.

I'm sure vLite will get an upgrade though to remove the extras :)

753409 2009-03-04 19:48:00 Use FF with IEtab, or go to the MS download site., once the updates are available.

And download them manually

The Windows Update site doesn't work at all in Vista/7 - you need to use the 'Windows Update' icon in Control Panel to get updates - which is the only way to do it.

You don't need a web browser for that :)

753411 2009-03-04 20:11:00 Well true, but no harm in going to the MS site, and getting whatever, if you want to slipstream or something

Nothing stopping you from using a browser, if IE 7 isnt installed at all

753413 2009-03-05 03:39:00 I like it. I like using IE but I also like as many options as possible. And I know there are people who don't want IE anywhere on their system too. Agent_24 (57)
