| 752448 | 2009-03-01 02:30:00 | While I was in downtown Auckland today I saw 4 Muslim couples How did I know they were Muslim ? Not from the guys who wore purely western clothes but from the women wearing the Muslim scarf I can understand that if you strongly believe in your religion you may want to identify yourself, but why not the men ? Or is it that the scarf is a statement of womens role in certain sections of Islam ? What do others think ? ( keep it reasonable, after all there are still Christian sects where the women have to cover their hair) A good artical is here en.wikipedia.org |

But they had better NEVER EVER say a bad word about girls, gorgeous girls wearing sexy clothing in public on the streets and beaches of NZ. Not sure about Islam guys only speaking for my perverted self but seeing a thin young chick in a short mini skirt with long legs that seem to go for ever with mega cleavage showing ( or bikini or 1 piece swim suit, or gymnasts, ladies with a lbd) makes my day, always has, always will till I die. |

| 752452 | 2009-03-01 08:08:00 | Certain male members who were part of the Muslim community down here in Chch wanted a special time set aside for QEII Pool to allow private bathing for Muslim women - so that they could swim and not be exposed to the onlooking non-Muslim men... Certain members of the non-Muslim female community down here then pointed out that if modesty was the issue, would the Muslim men also have a time set aside so that they could swim and not be exposed to "immodestly" dressed non-Muslim women...? Rather a good point I thought... |
