And who's going to look after you in your old age? If you are really worried and on a second marriage, you can both enter into a relationship property agreement recording each of you keep your own. Cost you $1200, cheap if it all goes pear-shaped. And set up a Trust as well. |

I love the idea of marriage,I would like to be married and have some kids and a white picket fence but in reality it's not a safe thing for a man to do now is it.:D What's the divorce rate 2 out of 3 or something get divorced and then get taken to the cleaners and have no home,no car,nothing!!!:eek: Why get married for that to happen it's just not worth the risk!!! I have to have a plan for the future and be able to look after the people I love and that includes myself as well of course!!!And that would all be screwed if I had nothing of course would'nt it!!! I have been giving $100.00 every pay day for 5 years now to my old's to help them out as they are retired and my mum confided in me and told me it helps them out alot,it means they can get a taxi,go to a resturant,go to the movies and then get a taxi home.Or pay for unexpected things that crop up now and then.They look forward to my pay day as that is when they can go out together again like they did when they were younger!!!:D I may not be financially able to do that for my old's if I was paying for a divorce settlement so it affects others apart from myself as well. |

So you work hard, stake your place in the world and enjoy the life you build.It could all turn to **** tomorrow, that's no reason for not enjoying the journey. If my wife left me she could have all the crap, and half the money from selling the house, What I considered as important would already be ruined. Though I of course wouldn't want that to happen, and have no idea how I would handle it emotionally as I'm quite attached to her. As long as she kept her hands off my bike and the contents of my home theatre:D. |
