Yup, they get their cables from the same place I do - Computer Dynamics.

752948 2009-03-03 05:09:00 Some people seem to think gold plated plugs are cool but in fact they corrode when plugged into nickel plated connectors. prefect (6291)
752949 2009-03-03 06:14:00 Yes people like Dick Smith make low markups on electrical machines, dvds phones, tvs, etc. But they make high markups on cables and accessories.

If I had time I would go into Hardley Norman pretend to buy a DVD player then when they try to sell an expensive HDMI cable - ask them to show me the difference !

Could be one for Fairgo or Target or as someone said on here the Commerce Commission (when they have fixed our power prices)

752952 2009-03-03 07:18:00 Go to Google and search "HDMI Cable scam" . Be prepared for a very long reading session .

In short a cable is a cable . End of story .

752953 2009-03-03 08:56:00 Latest Consumer Mag has tests on HDMI cables. Buy it from a shop that sell magazines etc.

752954 2009-03-03 09:24:00 Agree with all the comments so far. HDMI is in fact a data cable, so gold plating an HDMI cable is like gold plating cat 5. pine-o-cleen (2955)
