1449099 2018-04-29 11:47:00 Can one be charge $70 or $80 just by picking up a ringing phone (not mobile) by picking up the hand set, no one there, then hang up. Friend says she has, She "says" that Spark said it was a new scam happened early - mid April. Would it be more possible that her partner saw the number and rung back thereby activating charges? Nothing on Spark about a raging new scam. They are on wireless rural and home phone is on that. I am on Vodafone same scheme and do get those calls from time to time both prior to and after going wireless. Arnie (6624)

Only if you ring that number back. The trick being, you are ringing a 0900 type number...

Answering a call only? Of course not.
