1448398 2018-04-13 02:25:00 Looking at getting a LED Rechargeable Work Light similar to this:

www.ebay.com

I see they are available with either round or rectangular lense.
Can anyone advise on preference?

1448399 2018-04-13 03:28:00 Don't think it matters much.
Husband has a thing about torches and has several LED torches, various shapes and sizes. All much of a muchness, quite bright. He has a spare battery for his favourite too, so not waiting on charging.

So, dont pay any more than you are willing to loose .
Have a look at Bunnings, I got a mains powered LED worklight for $20 , Im sure they had rechargable ones

Anything with a batt, it can be a crap shoot as to if it gets out of the senders country.
Ive had goods stopped at the border & rejected just because it looked like it MIGHT contain a batt (was a multimeter, no batt incl)

1448401 2018-04-13 05:15:00 Batteries was another thing I was considering.
That particular light comes with a battery installed, which could be of any quality & have an unknown lifetime.
There are other types which come without batteries.

They take 4 x 18650 batteries & you get to buy whichever ones you want.
Not sure if they can be charged installed or not.

1448402 2018-04-13 06:55:00 I can't tell from the image if there's a single LED element or an array of multiple elements.
The shape of the elements and/or the lens is probably of little relevance, but consider the effect of shadows the device casts. A single or tightly packed LED array will produce sharply defined shadows, whereas a strip with multiple light sources spaced apart will cast softer shadows, and if you're trying to work beneath it (eg in an engine bay) you'll likely find a multiple sourced spaced out emitter arrangement less annoying than the distinct shadows from a single spot source.

From my own experience, it can be damned hard to get the light where you want it, without your head or hands blocking out all the light.

1448403 2018-04-13 08:15:00 If buying 18650 batteries do not get them from Aliexpress, I know this from experience and from others. I buy mine from a web based business here in NZ called Mr positive and reasonable prices too gary67 (56)
