1448160 2018-04-06 03:33:00 Has anyone got a recommendation for an efficient reliable garden waste collection service? I've used Greenfingers up to now but I'm finally getting fed up. Why?

They never pick up on the scheduled day, and this month I have had an email saying the collection will be today but the website says next week - which is when I would have expected.
They actively discourage customers from actually talking to them. There is a phone number on the home page but once you log in the only way to communicate is via a web form that they never respond to.
If you do phone, you never get to speak to anybody. You eventually get to voicemail, but they never respond.
According to the website I owe them money, which I wasn't aware of. I did get an email this week with what was supposed to be an invoice, but the file was corrupted and they haven't responded to my request for a replacement.

So all in all, I've run out of patience, and I'm looking for a replacement. I did a search and I found:

The Garden Bag Company
Clippa Garden Bags
Gabco Garden Bags
Auckland Garden Bag Company
Waste Management

Any experience of any of these? Any others around? Any recommendations?

And yes I know I should be composting etc, but for various reasons that is not an option for me.

1448161 2018-04-06 04:28:00 Assume you have tried the (lack) of customer support number at the bottom of their page instead of logging in -- try the sales, some places will answer ? (Eg: Vodafone, then complain about the long wait and get put through right away)

1448162 2018-04-06 04:51:00 Customer support is where I (eventually) got to a non-responsive voicemail. I've thought of trying sales - as you say you'd think that at least you'd talk to a human there. I've actually pretty much given up on them - this is just the latest in a long line of frustrations. I've sent them another email via the website, which basically repeats what I've in my first post. It will be interesting to see if that gets any response. Tony (4941)
1448163 2018-04-06 05:10:00 Do you have a lot of actual garden waste? myself I'm not a gardener but I used to use a local service for my lawn clippings and tree prunings, they were a little better than what you describe but not in your area anyway.
Anyway I switched to mulching the lawn year round and bought a wood chipper from bunnings for the prunings which I just put out with my regular rubbish a bit at a time. It's cheaper and the lawn looks better too.

1448164 2018-04-06 05:19:00 I live on a bush section, and what passes for a lawn is the least of the waste problems! I certainly manage to fill a 240L bin every 4 weeks. Lots of flax etc which don't really mulch successfully. Tony (4941)
1448165 2018-04-06 05:24:00 I was just doing a bit more searching and found that Greenfingers are on the No Cowboys website. Every single review I read had the same opinion as mine, so at least I'm not alone. :) Tony (4941)
1448166 2018-04-06 05:41:00 You could wait patiently for the councils service to start.
Or drop it off at the rubbish tip, it's not that expensive.

Or put it in one of the many garden waste collection bins around the place - theres a list online.
Or compost it. Or give it to someone else who gardens.

We take a friends (who doesn't garden) clippings, leaves etc as we can't generate enough here ourselves.

But their online calendar is not updated for Statutory holidays. Can't be all that difficult to add in S/H dates.
