| 1446892 | 2018-03-01 07:19:00 | When it shows up as No Media, that's normally means it dead or dying. USB sticks have a usb controller chip, basically it does the reading and writing (like a cdrom drive), the RAM on the stick is the media (like a cd). The controller can be fine and still be detected, but if the media itself can't be detected by the controller, its a good sign its dead. If the USB never shows up, then it could be the controller. Now, by fluke, you maybe able to get it to show up, could be a loose contact, etc. Heat it up and push the chip down. Worth a shot if you're just going to bin it and only need something off it. All those partition tools did all they can but if theres no media seen, they only can see the controller, the media is needed to be able to perform any operation like formatting, etc. It just doesn't exist in this case. |

Stay away from lesser known brands, and trademe,ebay sellers |
