The water content in a cup of tea or coffee is more than enough to counter the diuretic effect. They still hydrate you just fine, just not quite as well as straight water does. If coffee could dehydrate you I know a lot of habitual drinkers who should have died of thirst by now. |

I could never understand this water thing and have just ignored it completely! 99% of my fluid intake comes in the form of coffee, tea and alcoholic drinks (a wine or two each night) It has to be really stinking hot before I will drink H20 straight. At 77 I'm in perfect health, take no medications, and am still pretty active. I'm still waiting for my lack of "straight" water to produce some ill effect! |

And what did everybody use to do before there was bottled water? And what is wrong with drinking water from the tap? Surely that's as good? And cheaper. |

It has been and still is just a very good marketing con job. The so called special brand bottled water in most cases comes from the same town supply as does the tap in your home. Several reported tests have proved it is no better and sometimes not as good as your normal tap water. Except in cases where for some reason your local supply has been poluted or you are, perhaps, travelling it makes no sense to pay for bottled water either for health reasons and definately not for financial ones. |

All those bottles of water for sale leach contaminates into the water especially if left in a hot car. I drink quite a lot of water but nowhere near what they say. I drink tea and coffee at home but rarely when out | gary67 (56) | ||
| 1449133 | 2018-05-02 23:01:00 | Maybe some think it's a way, to the fountain of youth sipping bottled water ("Aqua Vita" (www.youtube.com) a take on what happens - old age if you stop - episode from the Twilight Zone TV show). Bottled Mi-zone was the one I liked, after a night of a few beers. Had a tint of flavouring... | kahawai chaser (3545) | ||
