1448680 2018-04-26 22:48:00 I saw some younger friends play Counter Strike Global Offense. Cheap as chips, I got off Steam. Yeah just not into it much.

Maybe story games are better and if it is not too hard ie you don't need to take cover under a crate and then pop your head out for a second or two 20 different times just to take out the baddie out.

It is maybe better watching people play and you can suss out a strategy for them to implement.

I read with the Xbox if you have a retail game ie with the discs they can be onsold and who ever has the disc can play it. I would think esp now with online downloads and purchases maybe the purchaser cannot let others borrow it or sell it when they lose interest? Well unless they have the account's detail.

I found with PC games even if you buy retail with the disc, they need to be initially registered online first with Steam. You do have people who onsell their license key but according to the rules and if they choose to force it, once it is registered it cannot be transferred to a different person / account. So unless one give their account details to someone else, all the games live and die on that single account.

1448681 2018-04-27 05:23:00 Fortnite looks kind of interesting.
Its free , so the price is right.

Is it a waste of time trying to do online multiplayer with ADSL internet , against others on Fibre ?

Long gone are the days I played mutiplayer on dial up, against another single PC/ Player :-)

1448682 2018-05-11 17:10:00 With my C64 . . . . . Sword of Fargoal and then Forbidden Forest were the last games I really played with any regularity at all .

Oh yea - there was Rescue on Fractalus (sp?) that was the one game that left an impression on me! "Aliens Don't Knock!" Remember?

I loved Gyruss - mostly it was the music that spurred me on though . THAT was exceptional!!!

Star Post was kinda good - and I was a MASTER 1st Class on it . . . . at that point it was boring .

Never really got into Pac Man/Woman, Donkeys, Bungling Bay or Mario . . . nor Frogger . (Squish that frog!)

Then a C128 and an Amiga were the rage (didn't the first Star Wars movie rely on the Amiga for a lot of the special effects? Me no know for sure though - maybe just wishful rumors)

I got the game "Marbles" for the Amiga and that was the last game I ever really played .

Never NEVER played 1st Shooter games at all . Don't care to minimize a human life like that .

Big games for me right now are cutting and splitting firewood and drying it for next winter, mowing 10 acres of lawn sitting on my 1956 Case VAC tractor and fishing and generally enjoying the fresh - fresh - FRESH air of Montana .

LOL owning a real gun is ok.
Shooting a real person may be OK.

Playing a shooter game is bad.

Right.
I played loads of them. None of them involved shooting humans actually, I stuck to the shoot creatures ones.

I have NO IDEA how you made that sweeping assumption.

I have NEVER shot a real person - maybe shot a few pixels a long time ago - but owning a firearm and shooting a person is a serious stretch of a sick imagination. They are not an inevitable dichotomy.

Attitudes like yours is a primary reason why so many people can be called 'gun nuts' because they react very badly to your drawn conclusion.

That's sick. The shoe fits.

1448685 2018-05-12 00:41:00 I use to play age of empires - the free version that came with PC's a few years back. Being a strategy came took too much planning - and time to optimize the game. So played simpler games, like tomb raider. but I cheated - downloading saved games to get ahead, reading the walkthroughs, and playing in God mode, with almost limitless armoury. But 1 hour playing would go on to over 3 hours...had enough wasting hours... kahawai chaser (3545)

If you had man-eating penguins walking down your streets, you'd get a gun too. Or not.

I for one can attest to your not ever buying a firearm too.

TBS: Having a firearm does NOT make one an anarchist, a rebel, a biker, a drug trafficker, a dope addict, a musician (OK - that might be a stretch!), a terrorist, nor a rapist, nor a pedophile.

It makes you a firearm possessor who (in my case) does not want to feed the bears - for which there is a fine and jail time.
