Woodburners, yes, the idea that the burn the gases causes more pollution is flawed, so they make it so you can't turn them right down. Nonsense really. What we saw down South, the biggest polluter was all the coal burning people, woodburners or not. Ban that and diesel and it would accomplish more. Power went off again last night, not for that long though, came back sometime round midnight	piroska (17583)

1448365	2018-04-13 22:47:00	I feel sorry for anyone who has been without food for more than 24 hours. The thought of all that food in the fridge/freezer having to be dumped is bad enough. Guess it is good practice for when the "Big One" strikes - but that is no consolation for those suffering at the moment. Hang in there guys :)	Zippity (58)

There's always cold food if no way to heat, we had bread and Vegemite the first morning. And bread and cheese for lunch. Ok, could have started to run out if it went on for days, but then there are shops....and friends/family elsewhere.	piroska (17583)

They all cause combined damage, mayhem, and extensive power cuts - particularly in the older Auckland suburbs. Time to get rid - or at least severely reduce their omnipotent presence. Can't vector remove their old school 30's - 60's power lines - and just bury them. And trees - take a peek outside - too many overgrown mammoth trees smothering each other - waiting to crash down... Sadly there's one left, a macrocarpa. A BIG macrocarpa. We are not capable of DIY now, it would need to be climbed and chipped at, lowering bits by rope, due to where it is. To get it removed professionally? Well neighbours paid $5000 for their similar one. I'm surprised it didn't come down, or at least part of it. But what can I do?	piroska (17583)

The line maintenance fund is diverted to shareholder dividends and CEO’s bonuses and the Aerials aren’t regulated and trees allowed to grow in them. Comes a bit of a storm and the chickens come home to roost. Can’t point the finger at any particular Government either because they are both guilty of causing the problem. :rolleyes:	B.M. (505)
